The biggest Polish non-governmental organization supporting the development of self-government, namely the Foundation in Support of Local Democracy, chose SAP Business One system dedicated to the SME sector. The system was implemented in 17 Regional Centers by SUPREMIS Sp. z o.o. - SAP Gold Partner. The main challenge of the project was: implementing one accounting system for 50 users from various Regional Centers scattered around whole Poland, unifying user accounts and clearing projects financed by UE structural funds. Before implementing SAP by SUPREMIS, each Regional Center entered data into a different accounting software. The lack of uniform system, the need for creating reports locally and their consolidation and the central office hindered efficient work and management within the company. One system for all the centers will eradicate the unproductive work and, first and foremost, make real-time reporting possible. The vast network of centers allows the Foundation to help local governments and non-governmental organizations even in the most remote parts of the country, mainly by means of educational and training programs. Financial means for the activities are obtained by, among others, structural funds within the Operational Programme “Human Capital”. The SAP Business One system will be fully adjusted to the EU directives regarding clearing projects funded by structural funds. The SUPREMIS company, which has already started implementing SAP in the Foundation, planned the official system start for January 2009. Visit: www.frdl.pl
