 Euro Power Centrum Sp. z o.o. - is the former administrator of Maximus Wholesale Trade Center – the biggest wholesale trade center in Poland. Maximus constitutes the first stage of the project carried out on the area of 24 ha. Within a year, four high-standard trade halls have been opened. The halls area equals nearly 100,000 sqm (25,000 sqm each). The halls accommodate over 700 manufacturers and importers from all over the world offering products of the consumer goods industry – predominantly clothes, footwear and accessories.

Apart from 400 Polish manufacturers, one will also find the stores of 200 Chinese and Vietnamese importers as well as 70 leading Turkish companies.

Which system to choose?

Maximus used to utilize 2 basic applications – accounting system in DOS environment and a custom-made system managing business processes converning the trade center administration. The accounting system was quite decent, however its main drawback was the lack of integration with the business system, which resulted in extra work spent on copying data by hand. The business system on the other hand offered acceptable functionality, but was very unstable, which is typical of systems made to order of one Customer.

Implementation dilemmas

The question, to which both Euro Power and SUPREMIS employees were looking for an answer was: Should SAP look and render all features in the same manner as the custom-made system or should it provide the same features, but in a different – typical of SAP – manner? As usual, compromise was the best solution. Euro Power employees took to many standard features of SAP Business One while SUPREMIS prepared a dedicated sector-specific solution taking Euro Power suggestions and the characteristics of the sector into consideration.

Based on MAXIMUS implementation, SUPREMIS has prepared a sector-specific solution for companies managing commercial real estate. As early as during the firs implementation, it was possible to work out the following standards:
