Methodology of ERP systems implementation

As SUPREMIS, we know that the choice of implementation methodology cannot be accidental. Nor can it be dictated by the prevailing fashion. Only the analysis of the project indicates the optimal methodology. In our daily project work, we use various implementation methodologies tailored to specific project requirements.

The basic methodologies used in the implementation of projects are the Accelerated SAP Implementation Program and the methodology adapted according to PMI standards. The basic assumptions we adopt are the implementation of the best business practices, the use of preconfigured solutions, focus on the goals and scope of the project, and the development of our solutions along with the development of our clients. This approach allows you to shorten the implementation time, and at the same time reduce the costs of implementation and post-implementation service.

An alternative methodology is the agile approach.

The model eliminates the factor that design findings become invalid over time. A change in this model is something natural, which speeds up the project implementation, helps to adjust current priorities and prevents budget wasting on unnecessary functions.

As SUPREMIS, we believe that when the basis of the project is a ready-made system adapted to the client’s business, the methodology gives measurable project benefits.

Actions are taken in stages (sprints) and taking into account the real priorities and current experiences of users with the implemented system.

The effect of each several-week sprint is to provide a working fragment of the system that can be tested by end users on an ongoing basis. This gives the opportunity to make regular adjustments to the solution in accordance with the needs that arise on an ongoing basis. The agile approach also gives you the freedom to control your budget and task priorities. Projects are usually settled on the Time & Material basis, so that the costs are associated only with the time and resources devoted to implementation.

The summary of activities in such a model is simple. The business partner pays only for what is most important, and the result of the project work can be achieved in a short time.
